Christine
Ashton Associate

Christine Ashton joined Wilson Vukelich LLP in 2009 as an
associate in its litigation group. Her practice focuses
primarily on employment and labour law, tax litigation, commercial litigation,
and related litigation.
Prior to joining Wilson Vukelich, Christy
articled with the Legal Services Branch of the Ontario Ministry
of Labour. During that time she conducted numerous trials
involving Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
charges. Christy has also appeared before the Ontario Labour
Relations Board in several administrative appeals relating
to OHSA and Employment Standards Act, 2000
matters. During her articles with the Ministry of Labour,
Christy served on the Association of the Law Officers of
the Crown's Board of Directors, as an articling student
representative.
Christy received her LLB from Osgoode Hall
Law School in 2008 and was called to the Ontario Bar in
2009. While at Osgoode, Christy competed in the 2007 Mathews
Dinsdale & Clark Canadian Labour Arbitration and worked
at the Community and Legal Aid Services Programme (CLASP),
serving as a Division Leader in the Workers' Rights and
Community Support Divisions.
Prior to law school, Christy received her
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Ottawa
in Ethics and Society, with a concentration in Philosophy.
